Phil Kassel - Grace Fueled GRIT: Receive Your Identity. Run Your Race.
What if the key to finishing well isn’t more grit, better performance, or greater success—but learning to live from an identity you’ve already been given by grace? Whether you're navigating leadership challenges, pursuing personal growth, strengthening your family, or trying to understand your purpose, this conversation will challenge you to stop striving for an identity you already have in Christ—and start living from it.
In this episode, Phil Kassel, President of Prinsco, author of Grace Fueled Grit, husband to Amanda, and father of four, shares how God transformed his understanding of identity, success, leadership, and purpose. After many years of chasing achievement and performance, Phil discovered that true success isn’t about climbing the ladder—it’s about surrendering control, leading well at home, and faithfully running the race God has set before you. Phil unpacks the life-changing truth that your identity is received by grace, not earned through performance and grit alone can only carry you so far. Through the lens of Scripture, personal trials, wrestling, and Ironman training, he reveals why grit alone will eventually run out, but grit fueled by grace can sustain you for the long haul. As Phil puts it, “Your identity is a gift received by grace through God. That's it. And when you understand that, you are a gift to the world.”

Phil’s Bio:
Phil Kassel is President of Prinsco, a national manufacturing company, and co-founder of 365 GRIT, an organization that helps leaders, athletes, and teams build resilient identity and disciplined endurance. He is also a speaker, author, and coach.
Raised in the church, Phil understood faith in his head for years before he experienced it in his heart. That shift reshaped both his identity and the direction of his life.
An accomplished athlete and scholarship wrestler, Phil carried his competitive drive into the corporate world, rising into executive leadership at a multi-billion-dollar organization and twice earning one of the company’s highest leadership honors. Along the way, he learned that achievement can be rewarding, but it can’t answer life’s deeper questions of identity and purpose.
Answering God’s call, Phil stepped away from a rising corporate career for a season to pursue ministry and mission-driven leadership. That journey brought growth, struggle, failure, and refinement—and a deep conviction that grace doesn’t remove hardship; it redefines strength within it.
From wrestling mats and Ironman finish lines to boardrooms and quiet seasons of prayer, Phil has learned a foundational truth: grit alone can only carry you so far. The endurance that finishes well is fueled by grace.
Phil is passionate about equipping leaders, athletes, and organizations with practical tools for resilience and sustained performance, centered on a simple rhythm: Reflect. Reset. Refocus. Reengage.
His message comes down to these two truths:
• Identity is received before it is achieved.
• Grace fuels the grit needed to run the race well.
He and his wife, Amanda, are raising four incredible children who remind him daily that the most important leadership begins at home. Among his unofficial honors: the title of “Best Wiper,” awarded by his oldest son—a distinction you won’t find on LinkedIn, but one he’s deeply earned.
Together, Phil and his family are pursuing the finish line that matters most:
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
