Michal & Louise - Telling Stories and Building Bridges with the Ultra-Poor

In this episode of The One Pebble Podcast, Kristine and Harris sit down with Michal and Louise Joachimowski, who have served International Care Ministries, a non-profit bringing physical and spiritual transformation to the ultra-poor in five countries, since 2007. They are also documentary film makers, hikers, and love traveling the world together.
Michal was born in Poland, and spent his youth as a professional triple jumper, gaining a scholarship to study and compete in the United States. While in the US, Michal developed his skills in visual storytelling, graduating with a mass media degree from ORU. Since 2007, he has served with International Care Ministries, sharing the stories of the poorest of the poor. He continues walking this path because the stories are still untold and the need is still so great.
Louise is a musician, writer and NGO leader. Born in London, England, Louise moved to the Philippines at the age of 20 and has spent thousands of hours alongside the ultra-poor in several countries around the world, sharing families’ stories of heroism and hope. With her deep understanding of poverty alleviation, she continues to bridge to gap between business-minded philanthropists and the life-changing impact of ICM’s programs. As a singer-songwriter, she has recorded three albums, and is passionate about creatively sharing stories from all corners of the world.
